Promoting Value Education in Schools

Promoting Value Education in Schools

In earlier days our schools were free of violence. Our educationists thought that this problem was related to the schools of the west only. In fact, with the advent of modernisation and commercialisation of society, the related problems started to appear in our society too. Now, the incidents of violence in our schools are increasing at an alarming rate. The time has come for those people who frame educational policies to think seriously and find some ways to deal with the situation. A demand to introduce value education in our schools is making the rounds and perhaps it is a good thing.

There is no denying the fact that home is the best place to impart values to the children. However, lifestyle have changed and parents don't seem to have enough time to spend with their children. So our schools must have teachers who are sensitive and caring human beings.

Our educationists must impart knowledge among students that each and every human being is born equal and has a right to live with dignity. Perhaps this is one of the most important values to be learnt and imparted so that violence in schools reduces.
