Tourism in India
Although India is a tourist paradise, we are not exploiting the potential of tourist destination to the full.Much remains to be done in this regard. Corrective action needs to be taken at the earliest so that tourist who visit India do not go away disappointed.
The first step is improvement of tourist facilities. Clean and well-maintained toilets for tourists should be ensured at all tourist locations. Further, clean drinking water must be made available at all places likely to be visited by tourists. Only tourist guides with a proper sense of history and speaking proficiently in the English language should be allowed to guide tourists. Guides with proficiency in other foreign languages like French, German or Spanish should be preferred. In addition, all people likely to come into contact with tourists like taxi drivers, hotel employees etc.,should be trained in hospitality skills. This will help improve tourism.
