Status of women in free India
Uptil the mid-20th century the position of women was very bad in India, as they were considered an inferior gender to men. They endured humilathumi at all levels of society and even in their own families. They were denied education and were wenfined to the four walls of their home.
But with the advent of independence there came a change in there position too. Their strength and will was well acknowledged. They high leadership positions and proved successful professionally too. These women stuck the right balance between their professional and personal life. women empowerment grew and they are now given equal rights in property,marriage,legal issues etc.
Women have left no stone unturned and no sphere unexplored to be eaual to men. A lot has been done; yet a lot needs to be achieved in this regard for the progress of the society as a whole.
