Role of Police in Maintaining Law and Order

In big cities, maintaining law and order is not an easy task. People from small towns and villages keep migrating to such cities in search of jobs and better opportunities. No doubt the cities fulfil their aspirations, but this influx of people creates problems too.

Everyone who migrates to cities does not get a satisfactory job and, in an urge to fulfil their dreams, they indulge in crimes, ignoring the consequences. The authorities need to evolve methods to combat these crimes effectively.

The traditional way of dealing with crimes is of no use. Since crimes are usually organised, the technique to fight against them should also be methodical. Police plays an important role in maintaining law and order; therefore they should be provided to the police so that they do not lack in any aspect while dealing with rising crimes in metropolitan cities. They should also impose stricter puniapunis to teach a lesson to others too.

Police must gear itself up to the changing circumstances to prevent anti-social elements from holding the cities to ransom.
